FIELD APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

Description:

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) position supports pre-sales activities with the Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and local sales representatives. This position encompasses the following areas, technical support, lead follow-up, product/solutions training and seminars to sales representatives and customers. The candidate must have strong presentation skills, excellent technical knowledge, proactive initiative, and the ability to form relationships with customer base, are critical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make initial and schedule sales calls with or without RSM’s.
• Recommend products, integration method and general application guidelines based on customer requirements.
• Set strategies to combine technology that will result in aiding RSMs to close sales.
• Responsible for customer and manufacturer’s representative technical training and product demonstrations.
• Provide technical responses to request for proposal to show how Aeroflex products can meet customer solutions.
• Develop training materials and application notes for Aeroflex products.
• Conduct application demonstrations for seminars, trade shows and key customers.
• Provide feedback to product management for new product development.
• Communicate field failures to design and development teams and assist in resolving issues.
• Create proposed specifications for new parts when no existing part meets customers’ needs.
• Provide input to support marketing development of data sheet, press releases and selector guides.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel to the customer site when required.
• Ability to handle both pre-sales and post-sales activities.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills are required.
• Knowledge on radiation affects on semiconductors a plus.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electronic or Computer Engineering and five years of related experience and/or training is required.
• Good problem solving and communication skills
• Fluency in English

DIGITAL DESIGN ENGINEER

You will be part of an experienced digital design team developing complex system-on-chip solutions on leading-edge technologies for consumer and aerospace applications. As a Digital design Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of the development cycle from requirements capture through to tape-out. Technical customer communication will be part of the role. Short-term travel is occasionally required.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electronic or Computer Engineering
• 2+ years experience in system-on-chip design: VHDL coding, FPGA implementation, ASIC synthesis, static timing analysis, verification and test, documentation
• Experience with tools from Cadence, Synopsys, Synplicity and Mentor
• Good problem solving and communication skills
• Fluency in English

Qualifications required:

• Diploma in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
• 2+ years of C and C++ experience : embedded real-time kernel development, driver implementation, network applications, linux and windows host applications
• Strong analytical / problem solving skills
• Familiarity with industry standard SW development processes
• Good spoken and written English
